Kotome Nene (Real name "Achille Grimaude") also known by his alias "Soprano" is a ghoul working for "間違いないでたらめ" (lit.no doubt bullshit) News Agency as a paper boy. He lives by himself in an apartment in the 5th ward.
Appearance
He has dark brown hair with a fade on the sides whilst he keeps it long on the top. He has an average physique, not skinny whilst not fat with a standard proportion of muscle. Usually wears black jeans, polished black dress shoes, a t-shirt with the words "新しい世代" (lit. new generation) and a blue hooded puffer jacket. He has a birthmark located on his right shoulder.
Personality
Kotome is very calm and collected on a normal day. He has a more perverted side as shown when he reacts to seeing the no-eyed king. This is supposedly caused by his own "fetish" for anyone with a new and different scent, sending him into a short frenzy. He has a darker and more twisted side which we have yet to see the origin of.
His level of communication with peers varies on the surrounding circumstances. In a normal day to day scenario of nothing big happening, he will remain silent unless questioned by a peer. When in a dangerous scenario where he or an ally could die, he will communicate a lot more. Due to this he can be viewed as being stoic.
Background
He used to live with 4 others in an abandoned warehouse where they seemingly dined together.

Kotome is a Koukaku ghoul who specialists in sword and shield kagune techniques.
Hand to hand combat
He has prior experience of fighting in hand to hand combat during street brawls and is capable of applying dirty tricks during combat to give him the edge. He has also practiced different forms of martial arts gaining moderate knowledge and experience in them as well as having minor experience in fencing.
Kagune
Currently his kagune can only extend from his left arm. It has 3 distinct forms that it can break apart or group together to form.
Form 1 - Winged Shield
His kagune grows into a large shield with scales running along it forming lines and lines of kagune spikes sticking out of it almost shaped like feathers. He nicknamed this shield to the winged shield as it has the appearance of the wing of a falcon. This is his most defensive kagune and is capable of defending him from the attacks of other Koukaku shields. He also uses this shield to ram into his opponents. Whilst using this kagune, his body weight is heavily increased causing a lot of strain of his legs whilst moving.
Form 2 - Long Blade
His kagune grows to form a long jagged blade resembling an incomplete spear. This blade has a reach of 3 metres along with a pointy end. Although it is jagged, it can still leave a nasty cut in his opponents should it meet at them with direct contact. This blade is a lot slower to use than his short blade but allows him to have more speed on his body than with his winged shield.
Form 3 - Short blade
His kagune grows to form a short jagged blade resembling an incomplete knife. This blade has a reach of a kitchen knife and is the sharpest of all 3 forms. It provides him with the fastest movement speed whilst using his kagune in comparison to his other 2 forms.

History
The Grimaude are a well-known family of monarchy among ghouls. They are a french Ghoul family residing in the main city of Paris. To humans they are famous choreographers of classical music, performing regularly at "L'Auditorium de Lyon".

- Achille is a French and Italian form of the Latin "Achilles" lit. meaning, he who embodies the grief of the people.
- Kotome is an incorrectly spelled rendition of Kotomi (琴美 ) lit. meaning, harp and truth.

- He was originally intended to be a ghoul investigator specializing in quinque shields which he would throw around like boomerangs.
